Hairbrush or slipper

I was spanked a lot growing up I grew up in a large family during the ’80s and ’90s and was one of 5 children, We were often spanked with either the slipper or the wooden hairbrush our spankings were long and hard really hurt, but my question is what implement do you think is the worst or most effective the brush or the slipper ?.

The slipper is by far the “best” and safest implement to use. That is provided it is a proper house slipper, ideally with a leather sole, and certainly not a gym shoe.

A hairbrush is a very solid object and does not give or bend on impact. The full force of the impact is on the bottom and after a few whacks, this is bound to bruise. The idea of the punishment is to cause a short sharp sting that does not last that long. A hairbrush will leave the buttocks tender for hours and may even be bruised for a few days.

True, the hairbrush may be effective on trousers and pants where as the slipper may not sting enough. Some parents do use the hairbrush with the child over their knee and use it on an upturned bottom. The slipper can be used in just the same way and is most effective done bare but without bruising. For those that could not bring themselves to use a slipper or hairbrush on a boy’s bare bottom, the slipper is going to be far more effective (and with less bruising) if applied across his pants or boxer shorts.

I agree.

The hairbrush is much more severe.

The slipper leads to a progressive build-up of sting and a nasty burn in the buttocks if applied bare – but if used with care even 30-40 slaps will not lead to bruising (or even marking) the day after.

I had plenty as a child and certainly, my buttocks were on fire for several hours – but the day after my punishment I was back to normal.

Well, I have on good account from the Missus that the slipper although stung like hell when she was whacked at school was nothing compared the anything made out of wood  She did say she was bruised for a day or 2 after a few times when she was whacked harder than normal. Tolerable in her view but still not nice especially when she had it in class. Those were the days eh

I agree that any hard wooden implement is going to leave considerable bruising after even a small number of whacks. Some people say that wooden spoons are even worse than hairbrushes, as they concentrate the pain in a smaller area.

Does anyone have any experience of being spanked with a wooden spoon?

At school, “the slipper” was invariably a plimsoll; at home, it was usually a carpet slipper, only occasionally a plimsoll. I also got the hairbrush at home. In ascending order of severity, I’d put them as carpet slippers; plimsoll; hairbrushes. I’ve had a wooden spoon too. It was quite mild but, as it was only an impromptu, quick couple of whacks through my jeans, I can’t really make a comparison with other implements.

The carpet slipper stung a bit but, especially through clothes, nothing much. I usually got the hairbrush on the seat on my knickers so that alone made it worse. Also, I tended to get a few whacks with the slipper just like at school – I wasn’t usually told how many but I could have a fair idea of what it was going to be. With the hairbrush it tended to be “a spanking” – rather than a specific number – and the soreness lasted longer too.

The slipper at school could sting like Hell but, in my view, it was a lot better than some of the alternatives and not as bad as the hairbrush.

You seem to have got quite a lot of CP at home as well as at school! Up to what sort of age did your parents punish you that way? I dimly remember getting a few OTK bare bottom spankings from my Mum when I was quite young, probably around 5, 6 or 7, but I don’t remember ever being spanked at home from the age of 8 onwards, although I’m sure I was threatened with it a few times. My Dad never spanked me at all and, in retrospect, I have the impression that he probably found it disagreeable although he didn’t object to my Mum spanking me!

When you got the hairbrush at home, did you go over the knee or did you have to bend over in a more formal way? You said it was more in the nature of “a spanking” with no set number of whacks but, from memory, how many whacks did you get typically? Did it leave much bruising afterward?

Please be advised the slipper Can cause bruising as well as red marks.

At least one of the cases that went to court in the past involved this bruising, accepted as genuine evidence. The one I recall was a prep school boy given 3 of slipper across his shorts by a Housemaster.

Part of the evidence in the papers at the time was photos of the bruised bum in question. It didn’t look too pretty!

Obviously, a heavier wooden hairbrush ought to be more capable than that of bruise-causing, but maybe the flatness of the wooden side impacts differently from the ridge on the soles of many slippers?
